SIX MAGIC VALLEY SCHOOL DISTRICTS SEEK FUNDING HELP

Julie Wootton reports that, for school districts, there’s nothing “supplemental” about the tax levy funding they’ve come to rely on to keep operations up and running.

On Tuesday, voters will decide whether to renew a total of $4.4 million in supplemental funding for six Magic Valley school districts. Cassia County, Hansen, Jerome, Kimberly, Minidoka County and Murtaugh school districts will each put a ballot measure in front of their patrons.

The districts are each asking for the continuation of the same funding amount previously passed by voters. Superintendents also say the measures won’t increase property taxes. …
