RESTORE AT LEAST SOME OF MEDICAID FUNDING

Idaho Press-Tribune editorial: Last year, the Idaho Legislature cut $35 million from Medicaid funding to balance the budget. With the loss of matching federal funds, the total increased to $108 million.

Now that budget projections are more optimistic for 2011, and the state is expecting to experience $147 million in revenue growth (and a carryover of $103 million from this fiscal year), advocates for the poor, elderly and disabled are urging the state to reinstate the money they cut from Medicaid last year.
