Jessica Keller reports that both local Idaho school districts prevailed in their attempts to pass supplemental levies to add key funding to their budgets the next couple years in a special election for schools Tuesday. The levies in both the Weiser and the New Plymouth school districts passed with 68 percent voter approval.

In the Weiser district, 729 voters approved the two-year supplemental levy, which will provide $350,000 a year for two years, whereas only 343 voters, or 32 percent, voted no.

“I think the last time we were at 63 percent (voter approval), so I think that is a real positive statement by the patrons of the Weiser School District,” Superintendent Jim Reed said.
