The Idaho Statesman reports the National Alliance of Mental Illness Idaho board of directors will hold advocacy events Jan. 16-18 in Boise. During the annual “Advocacy Days,” board members will attend Health and Welfare and Joint Finance-Appropriations committee meetings in the Idaho Legislature. The board also will meet with local legislators on mental illness issues. There are 54,000 adults and 18,000 children in Idaho with mental illness, according to NAMI Idaho.
