ED BOARD OPPOSES BILL TO CAP ANNUAL STATE SPENDING

The Idaho Press-Tribune reports that the state Board of Education is opposing efforts to lower Idaho’s cap on annual general fund spending to 5.3 percent of total personal income.

Trustees voted 5-1 on Friday to testify against the legislation should it come before the Idaho Senate. Board members say there’s too much uncertainty about the bill’s potential impacts, particularly on funding for universities.
