The Idaho Press-Tribune reports:  Should Idaho taxpayers pay $2.5 million to pay for extra classes for high school students in order to help them obtain college degrees in less time and at less expense?

You bet.

Emmett Republican Rep. Steven Thayn, who in the past has proposed some rather “interesting” legislation — including paying parents to keep their kids out of public kindergarten — may be on to something this time around. Thayn has introduced a bill, passed last month in the Idaho House and currently in the Senate, that would have the state pay for high school students’ online and summer courses so they can finish their high school coursework faster and start taking college courses while still in high school.  …
